Wicklow Heights is an established, neighborhood-driven cocktail garden known for quality drinks, warm hospitality, and a lively weekend atmosphere. We are seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager (AGM) to join our leadership team in a dual Lead Bartender role. This is a salaried position with benefits, ideal for a hospitality professional who thrives both behind the bar and in day-to-day operations.


Position Overview

The AGM / Lead Bartender plays a hands-on leadership role, balancing active bartending shifts with management responsibilities. This position is essential to maintaining our cocktail standards, guest experience, staff culture, and operational flow especially during high-volume weekends.



Key Responsibilities

Bar Leadership & Service

  • Lead bartending shifts with confidence during busy service periods

  • Deliver consistent, high-quality cocktails while maintaining speed and efficiency

  • Set the tone for hospitality, professionalism, and guest engagement

  • Uphold Wicklow Heights service standards and bar presentation


Cocktail Program & Beverage Development

  • Work with beer, wine, and liquor reps to build and expand the cocktail program

  • Contribute to seasonal menus, features, and specialty cocktails

  • Maintain recipe consistency, specs, and batching standards

  • Assist with inventory control, ordering, and cost awareness


Management & Operations

  • Support the General Manager in daily operations

  • Assist with staff training, onboarding, and performance accountability

  • Help manage scheduling, shift coverage, and floor flow

  • Handle guest issues with professionalism and hospitality-first solutions

  • Ensure compliance with safety, alcohol service, and cleanliness standards


Team Culture & Guest Experience

  • Lead by example in attitude, work ethic, and hospitality

  • Foster a positive, respectful, and team-oriented environment

  • Be approachable to both guests and staff

Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of cocktail bartending experience (high-volume experience required)

  • Strong knowledge of classic and modern cocktails, spirits, and bar techniques

  • Proven ability to handle fast-paced service on busy weekends

  • Prior leadership, key holder, or management experience preferred

  • Passion for hospitality and genuine guest service

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to multitask, lead under pressure, and stay composed during peak hours

  • Reliable, accountable, and detail-oriented
