Unit 24 is a fast-paced general internal medicine unit that serves highly acute patients who require specialist care. As an Assistant Head Nurse, you will be responsible for supporting staff by acting as a role model, clinical resource, and advocate. You will play a key role in identifying and addressing medical and non-medical barriers to patient movement by working closely with physicians and interdisciplinary team members through collaborative discussion and creative solutions. You are responsible for managing unit staffing needs and assignments, as well as patient movement on the unit. In addition to providing frontline nursing care, as required, you will take a leadership role in the promotion of quality patient care and the implementation of operational priorities and organizational policies.
