About the role
The Credit Auditor will be responsible for conducting end-to-end credit audits in a Small Finance Bank (SFB) environment, with a strong focus on credit appraisal, underwriting, disbursement, and post-disbursement monitoring processes. The role involves evaluating compliance with RBI guidelines, internal credit policies, and risk frameworks across retail, MSME, and digital lending portfolios.
What you will do
- Conduct credit audits across retail, MSME, and digital lending portfolios
- Review credit appraisal, underwriting, sanction, disbursement, and post-disbursement monitoring processes
- Assess adherence to RBI guidelines, internal credit policies, SOPs, and delegation of authority
- Evaluate asset quality, early warning signals, NPA identification, and monitoring mechanisms
- Review documentation, collateral management, and covenant compliance
- Identify credit risks, control gaps, and policy deviations; recommend corrective actions
- Assist in risk-based audit planning and execution of credit audit programs
- Prepare clear and concise audit observations and support audit report drafting
- Follow up on audit observations and track closure of corrective actions
- Coordinate with business, credit, and risk teams for audit discussions and clarifications.
What you will need
- Strong understanding of credit lifecycle and credit risk management
- Working knowledge of RBI regulations related to lending, asset classification, and provisioning
- Ability to analyze loan files, financial statements, and borrower risk profiles
- Exposure to digital lending processes, LOS/LMS workflows, and automated underwriting (preferred)
- Familiarity with audit methodologies, internal controls, and risk assessment
- Good communication skills with the ability to articulate audit findings clearly
- High attention to detail and analytical mindset
Experience & Qualifications
- Qualification: B. Com / M. Com / MBA / CA / CMA / CA Inter
- Experience: 1–2 years in credit, credit operations, or credit audit
- Prior experience in Small Finance Banks, NBFCs, or digital lending setups preferred
- Exposure to banking systems such as CBS, LOS, LMS will be an added advantage
