Job Title: Assistant Manager – Product Development
Location: Bangalore
Experience Required: 5–6 years of experience in product development, lifecycle management, or technical formulation environments.
Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cosmetics or Chemical Engineering.
About the role: We are looking for an Assistant Manager – Product Development who will work closely with brand managers, designers, supply chain, quality teams, and external partners to support new product development from ideation to launch. This role provides an opportunity to shape product strategy, drive technical execution, and contribute to market-driven innovation.
Responsibilities:
A. Market & Consumer Insights:
- Conduct market research to identify evolving trends, consumer needs, and competitor offerings.
- Analyse consumer and category data to support product strategy and innovation decisions.
B. Product Strategy & Planning:
- Support definition of product vision, positioning, and roadmap aligned with brand objectives.
- Assist in project planning — defining scope, timelines, and deliverables.
- Identify risks impacting development or timelines and support mitigation plans.
C. Formulation & Technical Development:
- Design product formulations aligned with business objectives and brand positioning.
- Develop stability study protocols and define product specifications and test parameters.
- Coordinate internal and external testing — stability, compatibility, performance, and claims validation.
- Engage with agencies and partners for claims development; manage cost and timeline negotiations.
D. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with R&D, marketing, regulatory, supply chain, and manufacturing teams to drive execution.
- Track project milestones, align dependencies, and communicate updates to stakeholders.
E. User Testing & Feedback Integration:
- Support consumer trials, sensory evaluations, and usage testing.
- Analyse feedback to identify improvement areas and guide product iterations.
F. Product Launch & Go-to-Market Support:
- Coordinate with marketing, supply chain, packaging, and ops teams for launch readiness.
- Assist in creating product guides, technical documents, training decks, and presentation material.
G. Quality Monitoring:
- Monitor quality throughout development and manufacturing stages.
- Partner with quality and production teams to resolve deviations or performance concerns.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cosmetics or Chemical Engineering.
- 5–6 years of experience in product development, lifecycle management, or technical formulation environments.
- Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and cross-functional environment.
- Familiarity with Agile development practices is a plus.
