Job Description

Domestic transportation Management:

  • Manage all inbound and outbound shipments from supplier and between WH & plant
  • Create seamless transporation mechanism for just in time delivery of material to plant for continues production.
  • Consolidation of shipment for cost optimization

    • Import and Export Management:

  • Manage all aspects of inbound and outbound freight movements
  • Good knowledge on EXIM documentation and customers clearance
  • Work with cross function, supplier and freight forwarder for on time delivery of shipment
  • Continuing monitoring of Sea and Air shipment
  • Knowledge of export shipment execution with various inco terms
  • Sound knowledge on import and export processes or guidelines by customs or DGFT
  • Experience in duty free shipment execution against advance license under various schemes like EPCG, EOU, STPI etc.
  • Experience in duty free shipment execution against MOOWR license
  • Fulfilment of compliances in duty free shipment against advance license and MOOWR
  • Knowledge of other related compliances like EPR, BIS, anti-dumping rules, WPC, LMPC, MRP etc.
  • Knowledge on trade compliances.
  • Cost optimization / saving in freight and duty.

  • Documentation retaining for reporting and audit fulfilment
  • Cross functional coordination
  • OTD / SLA monitoring
  • Collection of shipments and deliver to Factory as per committed schedule.
  • Report preparations and monthly KPI reporting
  • Continues improvement into processes and deliverables.
  • Coordination’s with Service providers, Buyers and Import team to ensure no GST input credit miss.
  • Ensuring Subcon Documentations as per GST law.
  • Co-ordinating and Providing actual Domestic freight cost details to GRN team for on time GRN.
  • Drive year-over-year freight cost reductions. Establish optimum Freight costs and manage adherence
  • Identify and implement best practices, and work with Factory Operations teams to optimize business & supply chain processes that have a direct and/or indirect impact on freight costs
  • Measure KPI Goals – review monthly – manage the countermeasure process
  • Develop and sustain key performance indicators as part of a comprehensive performance measurement methodology to ensure both financial goals and key performance metrics of the business plan are met.
  • Lead & implement continuous improvement activities to drive higher EHS standards, productivity and cost savings;
  • Provide support in all global, regional & local L&D organization initiatives, i.e. Global KPI scorecard, Domestic FMPB (Freight Management Play Book), JCMS (Johnson Controls Manufacturing Systems) Transtech, Freight Payment audit, certification programs & etc

    • Education:

  • Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or equivalent, with at least 8-10 years of experience in related roles & job scopes.

    • Technical Skills, Knowledge AND Experience:

    Familiarity with Supply Chain best practices. Understanding of ERP systems and processes (Pronto/BAAN/SAP/Oracle preferred). Fluent in English and knowledge of additional Indian languages. Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and ability to influence others through demonstrated expertise. Experience managing Logistics Service Providers. Good problem-solving skills. Good communications skills to coordinate issues internally and brief management. Proactive, conscientious, and able to drive projects to successful and timely completion. Fluency in MS Office suite of products. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize and work effectively under time/workload pressure.
