Assistant Manager – Quality (BOP – Bought Out Parts)

Location: Gujarat Plant – VeeGee Auto Components
Experience: 8 – 12 Years
CTC Band: Up to 7.2 LPA

Role Objective

Ensure consistent quality of Bought Out Parts through rigorous supplier quality control, incoming inspection governance, and vendor performance improvement — reducing production line stoppage and quality leakage.

Key Result Areas (KRAs)

  1. BOP Quality Control

    • Oversee quality of all bought-out components used in axle assembly.

    • Strengthen incoming inspection protocols and minimize quality escapes.

  2. Supplier Quality Management

    • Evaluate and monitor supplier quality performance.

    • Conduct supplier audits and drive corrective action plans for improvement.

  3. Incoming Inspection & Compliance

    • Define inspection plans, sampling methods, and acceptance criteria.

    • Identify trends in rejection at IQC stage and prevent recurrence.

  4. Vendor Development & Rating

    • Implement vendor rating system based on:

      • Rejection rate

      • Delivery quality compliance

      • Responsiveness to CAPA

    • Support supplier capability improvement initiatives.

  5. Quality Issue Resolution

    • Manage line issues linked to BOP failures and coordinate with suppliers for quick resolution.

    • Drive closure of quality complaints with traceable documentation.

  6. Quality Analytics & Reporting

    • Track and report:

      • Supplier ppm

      • BOP rejection %

      • Line stoppages due to quality

    • Present monthly quality performance to plant leadership.

Required Skill Set

  • Strong experience in BOP Quality / Supplier Quality Assurance in auto component industry

  • Hands-on with:

    • Incoming inspection methods

    • Supplier audits & development

    • PPAP, APQP, SPC, MSA

    • Quality management systems (ISO/TS)

Qualification

Diploma / BE – Mechanical / Production / Quality Engineering

Success Metrics (Performance Indicators)

  • Reduction in BOP rejection % by minimum 25%

  • Supplier ppm improvement quarter-on-quarter

  • Reduction in production downtime due to BOP quality issues
