Bldg/Medical School Location-City New Orleans School/Division MEDICAL SCHOOL Department Pediatrics Position Summary The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in New Orleans, is seeking an academic Pediatric Gastroenterologist specialist to join our faculty group. Academic appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor of Clinical Pediatrics (non-tenure, clinical track) depending on prior experience.


The successful candidate will participate in a broad range of pediatric gastroenterology activities. Primary clinical responsibilities of the position include patient care and consultations in a variety of settings including inpatient consultations at Manning Family Children’s and other local hospitals as well as outpatient clinics.


The Department boasts approximately eighty faculty members representing all pediatric sub-specialties. The section boasts the only ACGME accredited fellowship training program in the state. Clinical programs exist in all areas of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition including advanced therapeutic endoscopy and liver transplantation. The Division employs eight Pediatric Gastroenterologists and two Nurse Practitioners.


Manning Family Children’s is the only freestanding children’s hospital in Louisiana and serves as the primary pediatric teaching site for LSUHSC Pediatrics. Manning Family Children’s is a -bed, not-for-profit pediatric medical center offering a comprehensive range of services for children from birth to 21 years, with more than pediatric providers and 3, employees solely dedicated to the care of kids.
