JOB PROFILE

Position: Project Architect - Design

Location: Bangalore, India

Position Objective & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for appraising the client's brief to produce Concept and schematic design and having close involvement with the technical team to deliver detail design, tender documents, specifications, and site follow up.
• Applicants must exhibit exceptional design, documentation, and graphic communication skills. Rhino & Adobe suite experience a plus. Candidate with experience in BIM and parametric design will be of first preference.
• Develop concepts based on research through best practice case studies. Must have Intellectual updates of global projects to add value to the work in the studio.
• Analyze and translate principal Architect’s design concepts into preliminary sketches and drafts based on client’s requirements. Prepare preliminary proposed architectural design and presentation materials for review.
• Ability to lead 2-3 projects simultaneously and proactively coordinate with other consultants for structural engineers, building services engineers, infrastructure and other sub consultants and specialists. Responsible for the correctness and accuracy of their own work and all the work of their team.
• Coordinate with and supervise their own team of architects and Architectural technicians on a day-today basis to achieve excellent design quality and documentation, and match or better VSA standards.
• To show commitment to raising Vivek Shankar Architects design principles and approach. Assures VSA document standards operating procedures are met appropriately across the team.

Software Skills: Revit, AutoCAD, Sketchup, 3Ds Max, V-ray, Lumion, Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint, parametric modeling (Rhino & Grasshopper - preferable)

Experience and Attributes:

• Design Architect with 3-5 years of experience working in a design consultancy or design lead Architect office. International work experience preferable.
• Strong design and commercial skills – ability to win work and oversee delivery.
• Must be an effective team player. Excellent Client meeting, presentation and report writing skills
• Experience of interpreting and understanding local rules, regulations and design guides across the region
• Appreciation and working knowledge of sustainable design techniques and solutions
• Strong graphics and rendering skills.
• Good command of written and spoken English.

Qualifications:

• B. Arch. from reputed institute (M. Arch. candidates encouraged to apply)
• Member of recognized professional institution
• Chartered/Certified or equivalent
• Proven experience in similar leadership role
