Assistant Shift Engineer

The Opportunity

Location: Brooklyn, NS. Closing Date: February 2, 2026. We are currently looking for an Assistant Shift Engineer (ASE) to join our team at Brooklyn Power on a full time, permanent basis. Brooklyn Power is a biomass-wood fired power plant, consisting of a 30 MW turbine/generator and a 330,000 lb/hr fluidizer bed boiler.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all safety, environmental and security issues are identified to the Control Room Operator immediately;
• Implement and carry out plant policies to ensure acceptable safety and housekeeping standards are maintained;
• Monitor plant grounds and alert the Control Room Operator of any abnormal conditions external to the plant;
• Take corrective action as requested by the Control Room Operator;
• Assist plant maintenance personnel as required to ensure plant availability;
