Associate Art Cataloguer
Location: Mumbai
As a cataloguer, you will be responsible for cataloguing and conditioning products that are submitted for sale. We are looking for candidates with a degree/diploma and a background or interest in the arts. Prior full or part-time experience working in an art gallery, with a conservator, or museum is desirable, though not essential. We are strictly seeking applicants that are based in Mumbai.
Key Responsibilities
- Cataloguing and researching products submitted for sales
- Physical inspections and condition reports of the products submitted for sales
- Work closely with auction specialists and sales teams
- Follow checklists for products submitted for sales
- Coordinating with departments and locations as required
- Follow and update processes
- Assist with client queries, attending phone calls, and attending to gallery visitors when required
Skills and Experience
- A background in the arts is preferred
- Good interpersonal and communication skills (written and spoken English)
- Ability to organise and manage time
- Ability to work well within a team as well as independently
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- Computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Willing to adjust to long hours, if necessary, particularly during sale deadlines, exhibitions, and auctions
