Associate Data Scientist

Job Description

We are looking for an Associate Data Scientist to join Datavid’s data science and market intelligence practice. This role is suited to a curious, self-driven individual who enjoys working with data, AI, and emerging technologies to deliver real-world insights and client value.

Role Overview

As an Associate Data Scientist you will support Datavid’s client engagements focused on additive manufacturing and adjacent emerging technologies. The role emphasizes data exploration, market intelligence support, and rapid experimentation with AI-enabled solutions.

You will collaborate with Datavid consultants, engineers, and client stakeholders to support MVP development, evaluate AI and LLM tools, consolidate data from multiple sources, and deliver insight-driven reports and visualizations. This is a hands-on role in a fast-moving, experimental environment.

Responsibilities

Data Collection & Orchestration

• Collect, organize, and consolidate data from multiple internal and external sources

• Build and support data pipelines for scheduled data ingestion

• Assist with database organization and data workflow management

Data Processing & Analysis

• Clean, normalize, and preprocess structured and unstructured datasets

• Perform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and insights

• Support reporting, dashboards, and client deliverables

AI & Market Intelligence Support

• Prototype MVPs using AI and LLM-based tools

• Evaluate AI tools for feasibility, cost, performance, and scalability

• Support the development of AI-enabled market intelligence and data products

Collaboration & Delivery

• Work closely with Datavid teams and external vendors

• Support project scoping, prioritization, and documentation

• Contribute to analysis, visualization, and documentation of project outputs

• Support the identification of emerging technology trends and competitive opportunities

• Assist with workshops, events, and knowledge-sharing initiatives as required

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field

• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience

• Familiarity with Python, R, and Microsoft Excel for data analysis and preprocessing

• Foundational understanding of data engineering concepts, databases, and data pipelines

• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or equivalent

• Basic familiarity with big data or distributed data tools (desirable)

• Understanding of LLMs and AI tools , including evaluation and applied use cases

• Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira or Asana

• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills

• Clear written and verbal communication abilities

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, experimental environment

• High attention to detail, curiosity, and willingness to learn

• High integrity with the ability to handle confidential information

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Engineering

• Experience as a Data Scientist, Data Analyst, Consultant, or similar analytical role

• Exposure to or familiarity with Additive Manufacturing technologies

• Ability to translate technical capabilities into clear business value propositions

• Experience with digital data products, platforms, or product strategy

• Proven experience writing proposals, reports, or technical documentation

• Experience using tools such as Asana or MS Project

• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Comfortable managing multiple deadlines and contributing to ad-hoc initiatives
