Job Description
1. Academic Leadership & Governance
- Provide strategic leadership for all academic matters including curriculum design, delivery, review, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee academic governance processes, ensuring rigor, transparency, and compliance with institutional and regulatory frameworks.
- Serve as a principal advisor to the Dean on academic strategy, policy, and quality assurance.
2. Curriculum Architecture & Innovation
- Lead the design and evolution of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral curricula aligned with global benchmarks (Ivy League, Russell Group, top Asian institutions).
- Ensure curricula integrate:
- Strong theoretical foundations
- Research-led teaching
- Interdisciplinary learning
- Industry and societal relevance
- Champion pedagogical innovation, including experiential learning, technology-enabled instruction, and outcome-based education.
3. Faculty Excellence & Development
- Provide academic leadership for faculty recruitment, onboarding, mentoring, evaluation, and promotion.
- Establish high standards for teaching effectiveness, scholarly engagement, and academic integrity.
- Foster a culture of intellectual curiosity, academic freedom, collaboration, and continuous professional growth.
4. Teaching Quality & Student Learning Outcomes
- Oversee academic quality assurance mechanisms including learning outcomes assessment, peer review of teaching, and accreditation readiness.
- Ensure consistency and excellence across courses, programs, and delivery modes.
- Work closely with program chairs and faculty to address gaps in learning outcomes and student experience.
5. Research–Teaching Integration
- Promote the integration of faculty research into curriculum and classroom practice.
- Support the development of research-informed courses, honors pathways, and graduate supervision standards.
- Collaborate with research leadership to align academic programs with institutional research priorities.
6. Accreditation, Ranking & Benchmarking
- Lead academic inputs for national and international accreditation processes.
- Benchmark academic practices against top global institutions and continuously raise internal standards.
- Support ranking-related academic indicators (faculty credentials, academic reputation, student outcomes).
7. Cross-Institutional Collaboration
- Work closely with other schools, centers, and the central academic leadership to enable interdisciplinary programs and shared academic initiatives.
- Represent the School in academic councils, committees, and external academic forums as required.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- PhD from a reputable global university in a relevant discipline.
- Strong record of academic leadership in a high-quality university or research-led institution.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching, curriculum design, and academic governance.
- Clear understanding of global higher-education standards and best practices.
Preferred
- Experience at a top-ranked international university (Ivy League, Russell Group, top Asian or European institutions).
- Prior experience as Program Director, Chair, Associate Dean, or equivalent academic leadership role.
- Exposure to accreditation, global benchmarking, and interdisciplinary program development.
