Role Overview
The Associate Dean – School of Law will play a critical leadership role in advancing the academic excellence, regulatory compliance, institutional reputation, and industry relevance of the School of Law. The role requires a balance of academic stewardship, administrative leadership, faculty development, student outcomes, and external engagement with the legal ecosystem.
The Associate Dean will work closely with the Dean and central university leadership to strengthen curriculum design, pedagogy, research output, accreditation readiness, and professional positioning of the law school at regional and national levels.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Leadership & Curriculum
• Support the Dean in designing, reviewing, and continuously upgrading undergraduate and postgraduate law curricula in line with Bar Council of India (BCI) norms and global best practices.
• Ensure effective implementation of outcome-based education, experiential learning, clinical programs, moot courts, internships, and legal aid initiatives.
• Promote interdisciplinary learning and integration of technology, policy, and business perspectives into legal education.
Faculty Leadership & Development
• Assist in faculty recruitment, onboarding, mentoring, performance management, and academic progression.
• Encourage high-quality teaching, case-method pedagogy, and innovative assessment practices.
• Foster a strong research culture, including publications, funded projects, conferences, and policy-oriented legal research.
Research, Thought Leadership & Outreach
• Contribute to the development of research centers, journals, law reviews, and policy forums.
• Build collaborations with law firms, courts, think tanks, corporates, NGOs, regulators, and international academic institutions.
• Represent the School of Law in academic forums, conferences, professional bodies, and media engagements as required.
Student Experience & Outcomes
• Oversee student academic progression, discipline, mentoring systems, and grievance redressal mechanisms.
• Strengthen internships, clerkships, placements, and career pathways across litigation, corporate law, public policy, judiciary, and alternative legal careers.
• Promote student participation in moots, debates, ADR competitions, and national/international legal forums.
Governance, Compliance & Accreditation
• Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including BCI, UGC, and internal academic governance frameworks.
• Support accreditation processes, rankings, audits, and quality assurance initiatives.
• Assist in academic planning, budgeting inputs, and institutional reporting.
Strategic & Institutional Development
• Support the Dean in executing the long-term strategic vision for the School of Law.
• Contribute to brand building, student recruitment strategy, and alumni engagement.
• Participate in university-wide committees, policy formulation, and leadership initiatives.
Eligibility & Qualifications
Essential
• Ph.D. in Law from a recognized Indian or international university.
• Minimum 10 years of academic experience, with at least 3 years in leadership or administrative roles.
• Strong record of teaching, research publications, and academic service.
• Sound understanding of Indian legal education regulations and accreditation frameworks.
Desirable
• Experience in institution building or launching new academic programs.
• Exposure to international collaborations or comparative legal education.
• Prior engagement with legal practice, judiciary, policy institutions, or consulting assignments.

Compensation
Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and market benchmarks, aligned with senior academic leadership roles in private universities.
