We are seeking a detail‑oriented and strategic Project Management Officer (PMO) to support large-scale programs and projects within the Energy & Utilities industry. This role involves overseeing project governance, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, managing cross‑functional coordination, and enabling delivery excellence across engineering, operations, digital transformation, and sustainability initiatives.

The ideal candidate brings strong project management expertise, an understanding of energy & utility operations (generation, transmission, distribution, metering, renewable, or grid modernization), and the ability to drive structured execution in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Project Governance & Control

  • Establish and maintain project governance frameworks, methodologies, and delivery standards.
  • Define project KPIs, dashboards, progress trackers, and performance indicators specific to utility operations.
  • Ensure alignment with industry regulations, safety requirements, and compliance norms.

Program & Portfolio Management

  • Support planning and execution of large programs such as:
    • Grid modernization
    • Smart metering rollout
    • Renewable energy integration
    • Substation upgrades
    • SCADA/EMS/DMS implementations
    • Energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives
  • Prioritize project portfolios based on business goals, resource availability, and regulatory mandates.
  • Track interdependencies and risks across multiple projects.

Project Execution Support

  • Assist project managers with project plans, budgets, timelines, risks, and quality checks.
  • Conduct periodic project reviews, variance analysis, and stakeholder reporting.
  • Facilitate issue resolution and escalate critical risks to leadership.

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, regulatory, finance, and IT teams.
  • Coordinate with external vendors, EPC contractors, consultants, and government bodies.
  • Prepare high‑quality presentations, business cases, and project documentation for internal and regulatory stakeholders.

Data, Analytics & Reporting

  • Develop real-time dashboards for tracking:
    • Outage management
    • Asset utilization
    • Energy losses
    • Project SLAs
    • Cost and schedule performance
  • Analyze project data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Provide insights to support decision‑making for senior leadership.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Maintain project documentation as per energy industry standards (ISO, IEC, CEA, local regulatory guidelines).
  • Monitor adherence to safety, environment, and quality policies.
  • Support audits, approvals, and regulatory submissions.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy, Power Systems, Utilities, or related field.
  • 10–16 years of experience in project management, PMO, or program coordination within the Energy & Utilities sector.
  • Strong knowledge of energy operations such as:
    • Power generation (thermal, renewable, hydro)
    • Transmission & distribution networks
    • Asset management
    • Smart grids / AMI / SCADA systems
  • Proficiency in MS Project, Primavera, Power BI, and project tracking tools.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.

    Key Responsibilities: Develop detailed project plans, including defining the scope, objectives, timeline, budget, and resource allocation for the AMISP project. Establish project goals, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring they align with both business and client objectives. Monitor and track project progress, ensuring that activities stay on schedule, within budget, and meet quality standards. Identify potential project risks and issues and develop strategies to mitigate their impact on the project’s timeline and deliverables. Regularly communicate with stakeholders to provide status updates, report on risks or issues, and suggest corrective actions when necessary. Coordinate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, ensuring optimal use of assets to achieve project success. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and key stakeholders to promote collaboration and ensure alignment with project goals. Develop and manage the project budget, ensuring that expenses are monitored and controlled within the approved limits. Track and control any changes to the project scope, ensuring they are documented, reviewed, and approved through formal change control processes. Ensure that all project deliverables meet quality standards, client expectations, and regulatory requirements. Proactively address conflicts or challenges within the project team or with external stakeholders to keep the project on track. Manage project documentation, ensuring that records of project decisions, changes, and milestones are organized and accessible. Facilitate regular project meetings, including status updates, risk assessments, and issue resolution discussions with the project team and stakeholders. Ensure effective communication across all project stakeholders, facilitating clear and transparent information flow at all project stages. Provide leadership and motivation to the project team, fostering an environment of focus, productivity, and enthusiasm for project goals. Track and report on key project performance metrics, including cost, time, quality, and resource utilization, to ensure continuous improvement and effective project delivery. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field (Master's degree is a plus). Proven experience (10+ years) in project management, ideally in the AMISP or infrastructure sector. Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead diverse teams and collaborate with various stakeholders. Proficient in project management software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera, etc.). Ability to manage budgets, timelines, resources, and risks effectively. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience in managing large-scale infrastructure or technical projects is preferred.
