Ares Infrastructure Opportunities (“AIO”) is hiring an Associate to join its Investment Team in New York, NY.

AIO is an equity-oriented infrastructure group that employs both value-add and core strategies to invest in assets and companies within the infrastructure asset class. Target sectors include renewable energy, energy storage, natural gas midstream, transportation, resource efficiency, low carbon molecules, infrastructure services, and digital infrastructure. We leverage our technical and financial skill set, industry relationships, and the Ares platform to source proprietary deal flow, structure downside protection, and seek attractive risk-adjusted returns for our investors.

We manage ~$8.5bn across our two strategies and three main funds. AIO draws upon a broadly-skilled and cohesive team of approximately 30 investment professionals with deep sector expertise and strong industry relationships.

The candidate will work as an integral part of the Investment Team in New York, which is responsible for originating, structuring and executing new investments. Responsibilities will include financial and analytical support as part of lean investments teams as well as the management of new and existing investments.

Key Responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Leading preparation and maintenance of financial models
  • Assisting with due diligence process
  • Assisting with deal structuring and execution
  • Assisting with preparation of investment committee materials
  • Preparing industry and thematic research
  • Monitoring and reporting on operational and financial performance of project and investment, including analysis of variances
  • Interfacing with portfolio companies, third party diligence providers, and other external partners
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or international equivalent, along with relevant work experience
  • Candidates with 1-3 years of experience in private equity, project finance, investment banking, development, and/or the power/energy/infrastructure sectors will be given priority.
  • The candidate should possess strong finance and analytical abilities as well as strong financial modeling capabilities (in Excel) and excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Industry knowledge is strongly preferred.

    Compensation

    The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.

    $155,000.00 - $165,000.00
