Job Description
Role Purpose
To plan, coordinate, and oversee civil engineering activities for process industry projects across multiple locations, ensuring timely execution, quality compliance, cost control, and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution & Coordination
Manage and monitor civil works for greenfield and brownfield projects across various plant locations.
Coordinate with site teams, EPC contractors, consultants, and vendors for smooth execution of civil activities.
Review project schedules and ensure civil works align with overall project milestones.
Provide technical support to site teams during construction and execution phases.
Design & Engineering Review
Review civil and structural designs, drawings, BOQs, and specifications for process plant structures (foundations, buildings, pipe racks, equipment foundations, roads, drains, etc.).
Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and statutory requirements.
Coordinate with structural consultants and resolve design-related issues.
Cost, Quality & Schedule Control
Monitor quantities, certify running bills, and control project costs related to civil works.
Ensure quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) at sites through inspections and audits.
Identify risks and delays and propose corrective and preventive actions.
Contractor & Vendor Management
Assist in contractor pre-qualification, tender evaluation, and technical negotiations.
Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Resolve site-level technical and execution challenges in coordination with stakeholders.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure adherence to HSE norms, safety standards, and company policies at project sites.
Support statutory approvals, inspections, and compliance related to civil works.
Reporting & Documentation
Prepare periodic progress reports, MIS, and dashboards for management review.
Maintain proper documentation related to drawings, approvals, measurements, and completion reports.
Qualifications
Education
B. E. / B. Tech in Civil Engineering (Master’s degree preferred but not mandatory)
Experience
7–12 years of relevant experience in civil project execution
Proven experience in process industries such as chemicals, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, cement, power, oil & gas, or similar
Experience handling multi-location projects from a head office role is highly desirable
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of civil and structural works for industrial projects
Familiarity with Indian and international codes (IS, ACI, ASTM, etc.)
Proficiency in Auto CAD; exposure to STAAD/ETABS and project management tools is an advantage
Good coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Willingness to travel extensively to project sites
Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
