Job Description: NOMC Engineer/Operator


Location: KSEBL Data Centre / Network Operations cum Monitoring Centre (NOMC)

Shift: 24x7 Rotational Shifts (including business hours and on-demand onsite support)

Qualification: Diploma / B.Tech (Any stream)

Experience Required:


  • 6 months to 2 years of experience in Smart Metering Services and NOMC operations is mandatory.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in MDMS or similar software operation and management.
  • Minimum 1 years of experience in Server, Database, Storage, Networking , and Security Systems administration and system integration.

Job Role & Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Operations of Smart Metering Systems including HES, WFM & MDMS.
  2. Monitoring, Reporting & Incident Management for all smart metering-related services.
  3. SLA Management – ensuring uptime and timely resolution of issues.
  4. Providing technical support, validation, and testing for smart metering products.
  5. Coordinating dispute resolution and field staff support .
  6. Carrying out SAT (Site Acceptance Testing) and UAT (User Acceptance Testing) as and when required.

Operational Responsibilities

  1. Work in 24x7 rotational shifts as part of the NOMC.
  2. Perform daily monitoring and operations of HES, WFM & MDMS applications as per SOP.
  3. Provide technical assistance to field staff for field activity execution.
  4. Coordinate with KSEBL, utility teams , and application providers for resolving issues.
  5. Understand utility billing systems and integrations .
  6. Handle and resolve integration-related issues efficiently.
  7. Monitor SLA compliance and take necessary actions for adherence.
  8. Use Incident Management & Ticketing tools to track and resolve tickets within SLA.
  9. Immediately respond to system events, alerts, and anomalies .

Additional Skills

  • Good understanding of AMISP architecture , products, infrastructure & services.
  • Knowledge of smart metering protocols and platforms .
  • Proficiency in network and systems monitoring tools .
  • Malayalam language proficiency is mandatory.
