Overview of the Department/Section
Global Corporate & Investment Banking ("GCIB") is the division responsible for managing the Bank's key international client relationships and delivering a comprehensive suite of financing products (DCM Loans & Bonds, Structured & Project Finance, Securitisation, Working Capital Solutions, FX and IR derivatives, Trade Finance, ECA financing, Network Banking services etc.).
The coverage teams manage the global relationships with these groups providing deep credit insight and strategic understanding to deliver tailored financing and risk‑management solutions. Acting as the central point of coordination, the relationship management teams define and execute the commercial strategy while working closely with product specialists across Capital Markets, FX & Rates, Project Finance, Trade Finance and Global Subsidiary Banking.
Global Corporate & Investment Banking (GCIB) Paris is responsible for managing the Bank’s global relationships with major French corporate groups. Within GCIB Paris, a team of five Associate Relationship Managers works closely with the Global Relationship Managers, providing support in the comprehensive coverage and development of their client portfolios
Main Purpose of the Role
The Associate Relationship Manager supports the Global Relationship Managers (GRMs) in all activities related to managing and developing client relationships. The role contributes to identifying, originating, and executing new and renewed business opportunities with a portfolio of sophisticated existing and prospective corporate clients, with the objective of driving revenue growth in line with KPIs and promoting cross‑selling across multiple product lines.
The key objectives of the role are :
Develop client relationships in partnership with the GRM by identifying, originating, and executing cross‑sell opportunities to meet ambitious Revenue and ROE targets.Maintain and enhance client dialogue to propose tailored products and solutions that address client needs.Take ownership of specific areas of the relationship, such as Network Banking or Transaction Banking, under the supervision of the GRM.Support the onboarding of new clients, ensuring efficient coordination across teams.Support the preparation of documentation required for the execution of transactions, including approvals and supporting materials.Maintain accurate client data, enabling analysis of global client profitability.Coordinate transactions across MUFG’s international network to ensure smooth execution and effective communication among stakeholders.Assist in the preparation of marketing materials, including pitchbooks and client presentations.Key Responsibilities
Monitor client profitability and contribute to developing strategies to strengthen revenues, optimise return on equity (ROE), and enhance the overall performance of the relationship.Support the GRMs in maintaining regular client dialogue, helping identify and maximise business opportunities while progressively building your own network of client contacts.Prepare marketing materials and client pitchbooks, including updating the Bank’s corporate presentation, consolidating product-specific content from various offices, and drafting relationship summaries. Produce briefing notes and memos for senior management meetings.Prepare capital allocation committee materials for credit facilities (term loans, revolving credit facilities, syndicated or bilateral). This includes liaising with product desks (DCM Loans & Bonds, Project & Structured Finance, FX & Swaps, international network, etc.), updating historical and forecast revenue figures, coordinating with internal teams (Credit, Portfolio Management, Planning, etc.), and drafting the documentation such as profitability analyses, relationship overviews, and business rationales.Assist the GRM in preparing annual account plans, including client strategy reviews, profitability analyses, and coordination with relevant product teams to define commercial priorities.Support the execution of transactions, including coordination of the full internal process: business and credit approvals, preparation of credit papers, review of legal documentation, compliance checks, KYC, and operational onboarding.Ensure effective cooperation with product offices to originate new business opportunities. Maintain regular contact with MUFG international branches covering multinational clients, and liaise with client head offices to facilitate the smooth execution and closing of transactions.Develop strong internal relationships within MUFG to build a peer network, share relevant insights, and promote efficient cross‑departmental collaboration.Work closely with the broader GCIB Paris, GCIB EMEA, and MUFG Paris Branch teams, providing support on various business initiatives and internal processes as required.Assist the KYC team by supporting due‑diligence activities and ensuring that all client checks are completed in accordance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.Work Experience
Minimum 5 years successful experience in Corporate & Investment Banking Coverage ideally with a complemented with prior experience in a Product function (such as DCM Loans & Bonds, Project Finance, Securitisation/Working Capital solutions, Leveraged Finance, M&A, Commodity Finance, etc.) and/or within a Treasury or Finance department of a large Corporate.International experience and/or exposure is preferredSkills and Experience

Graduate from a top Business or Engineering school (“Bac+5”), holding a master’s degree in finance or business, with a strong foundation in Corporate Finance.Personal Requirements
