Summary:
The Associate Specialty Gas Plant role is a critical operational position responsible for ensuring the seamless and safe production, handling, and distribution of specialty gases, including inert, flammable, toxic, and helium gases. This role plays a key part in maintaining production efficiency, equipment reliability, and compliance with stringent safety and quality standards. The incumbent will oversee daily production schedules, preventive maintenance, inventory management, and regulatory compliance while supporting plant operations through coordination with cross-functional teams. The position demands technical expertise, a strong safety mindset, and a proactive approach to problem-solving to prevent downtime, ensure product quality, and uphold operational excellence across all plant systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily production schedules for inert, flammable, toxic gases, and helium filling systems.
  • Ensure uninterrupted production by preventing equipment failures, cylinder or valve shortages, and supply chain disruptions.
  • Collaborate with the distribution team to plan timely cylinder deliveries and avoid stock-out scenarios.
  • Conduct monthly raw material stock checks and submit reports to the Plant Manager.
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive monthly production reports.
  • Maintain zero quality rejection through strict adherence to quality control protocols.
  • Implement and monitor the plant’s preventive maintenance plan according to schedule.
  • Ensure compliance with COP/OSS functional checks, calibration, and other operational standards.
  • Maintain critical safety and monitoring systems, including gas detection, CCTV, access control, fire detection and alarm systems, and fire hydrant systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance on electrical panels in coordination with OEMs.
  • Interpret and work with PID and ESLD diagrams effectively.
  • Initiate and manage Management of Change (MOC) processes for any operational modifications.
  • Strictly follow legacy safety requirements, standard safety practices, hazard mitigation protocols, and site-specific rules.
  • Maintain and enforce the Permit to Work (PTW) system.
  • Ensure proper use and availability of PPEs across the plant.
  • Promote and sustain 5S practices throughout the plant area.
  • Manage and maintain critical spare parts inventory.
  • Coordinate with the Procurement team and issue Plant Spare Purchase Orders (POs) in a timely manner.
  • Ensure prompt processing of vendor payments.
  • Oversee contractor activities and ensure compliance with site safety standards.
  • Support plant shutdown maintenance activities and planning.
  • Assist the Plant Manager in meeting statutory compliance requirements.
  • Conduct regular training sessions for operators to enhance skills and safety awarenes


Requirements

Requirements:
  • BE or Diploma in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in gas plant operations or a similar industrial environment.
  • Proven experience in production scheduling, preventive maintenance, and safety compliance.
  • Strong understanding of gas handling, safety systems, and industrial equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting PID and ESLD diagrams.
  • Experience with MOC, PTW, and 5S implementation.
  • Knowledge of statutory compliance and regulatory standards in industrial operations.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under pressure.
