Role Overview
A law firm is seeking to expand its Banking & Finance practice with Associates and Senior Associates who have strong transactional experience in financing matters. The role involves working on complex domestic and cross-border financing transactions, with increasing levels of responsibility depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate financing documentation, including: Facility and loan agreements, Security documents, Inter-creditor, escrow, and related ancillary documents
- Advise on and support transactions involving: Project finance, Structured and acquisition finance, Refinancing and debt restructuring
- Conduct and oversee legal due diligence and prepare diligence reports
- Manage transaction closings, including CP satisfaction and post-closing actions
- Coordinate with clients, lenders, borrowers, and other transaction counsel
- Stay abreast of regulatory and RBI-related developments impacting financing transactions
Senior Associates will additionally:
- Independently manage transactions end-to-end
- Lead negotiations and client discussions
- Supervise and mentor junior associates and interns
Requirements
- 2–7 years of post-qualification experience in Banking & Finance at a law firm
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and documentation skills
- Solid understanding of financing structures and security creation
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced, transaction-driven environments
- Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder-management skills
