**Summary**
The **Senior Lead** **Engineer - Atlassian Cloud Administration** is responsible for the strategic oversight, architecture, and day-to-day governance of our enterprise Atlassian ecosystem. This role focuses on ensuring a high-performing, scalable, and secure environment while championing process excellence through automation and advanced configuration.
As a subject matter expert, you will drive transformational initiatives that optimize how our global teams collaborate. You will be pivotal in translating complex business requirements into elegant technical solutions within Jira and Confluence, ensuring the platform remains a robust engine for enterprise-wide delivery.
**Detailed Description**
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
+ **Platform Governance:** Design and implement global configuration standards, including sophisticated schemes (permission, notification, issue security) and workflow hierarchies that balance flexibility with control.
+ **Strategic Optimization:** Lead the evaluation and implementation of Marketplace apps, ensuring technical compatibility, security compliance, and ROI across the cloud instance.
+ **Process Engineering:** Develop and maintain advanced automation rules, ScriptRunner scripts (if applicable), and API integrations to streamline cross-functional handoffs and data integrity.
+ **Infrastructure Management:** Manage Atlassian Access/Cloud Enterprise settings, including SSO/SAML integrations, user provisioning via SCIM, and product sandboxes for rigorous UAT.
+ **Data & Insights:** Establish system-wide KPIs and health metrics. Create complex dashboards and high-level reporting structures (using Advanced Roadmaps or Atlassian Analytics) to provide leadership with visibility into program health.
+ **Change Management:** Act as the primary technical lead for large-scale migrations, consolidations, or workspace reorganizations, ensuring zero-to-minimal downtime for global users.
+ **Security & Compliance:** Monitor audit logs, manage data residency requirements, and ensure the ecosystem adheres to corporate security policies and best practices.
**Knowledge/Skills/Competencies**
+ **Atlassian Mastery** - Deep technical expertise in Jira Cloud (Software, Service Management, Work Management) and Confluence Cloud. Expert-level knowledge of JQL, Advanced Roadmaps, and automation engines.
+ **Systems Architecture** - Ability to design scalable project architectures that support diverse methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall) within a single unified instance.
+ **Leadership** - Proven ability to influence stakeholders, build partnerships across departments, and mentor junior administrators or power users.
+ **Technical Integration** - Proficiency in connecting the Atlassian suite with external tools (e.g., Slack, GitHub, Okta) via native connectors or REST APIs.
+ **Problem Solving** - Exceptional ability to troubleshoot complex configuration conflicts and performance bottlenecks in a high-traffic cloud environment.
+ **Communication** - Ability to translate technical constraints into business-friendly language for executive reporting and end-user documentation.
**Physical Demands**
+ Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
+ Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
+ Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
+ Occasional travel may be required.
