:Purpose of Position
The Audio Visual (AV) Technicianis responsible forsetting up,operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting audio,andvideo equipment to support meetings, events, and presentationsincluding:
Ensuringthe smooth delivery of high-quality AV services, both in-person and virtual, while providing technicalassistanceto staff.
Playinga key role in enhancing communication, engagement, and the professional image of theorganization,through effective use of technology.
Key Responsibilities
Installs, configures,maintains, andoptimizesall hardware, software, communication links, and collaboration platformsrelated to AV equipment.
Providestechnical support and troubleshootaudiovisualsystemssuch as:Crestronand PolycomVideo Conference equipment,wireless microphones,computers, and wireless networks.
Works with event organizers, presenters, and other staff to understand their needs and ensure smooth event executionincludinginstalling, configuring, andoperatingaudio, video, and conferencing equipment for meetings, events, and presentations.
Perform routine maintenance, diagnose, and resolve technical issues with AV systems and related equipment.
Provide on-site and remote support during live events, ensuring high-qualityAVperformance.
Facilitate virtual and hybridTeamsmeetings,including pre-event testing and live support.
Manage andmaintaininventory of AV equipment, ensuring all devices are in good working condition andproperly stored.
Assiststaff with AV setup and provide basic training or guidance on equipment usage.
Assistwith the installation and integration of new AV technologies and system upgrades.
Work closely with IT teams, event coordinators, and other stakeholders to ensure AV requirements are met.Maintainaccuraterecords of AV setups, technical issues, maintenance schedules, and equipment usage.
Author andmaintainFAQs and Knowledge Base documentation.
Provideadvice, training, and support to the Service Desk staff for the workplace technology landscape.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Degree/diplomain Information Technologypreferred– or a combination of education, training and experiencedeemedequivalent.
Work experience withCrestron and Polycom Video Conference equipmentis an advantage.
3-5years of experience in operating andmaintainingAV equipment in corporate, education,or event settings.
Hands-on experience withaudio systems, Teams video conferencing platform, displays, wireless microphones.
Experience with livestreaming, hybrid event setups, and troubleshooting AVissues in real time.
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge in Microsoft 365 platform: Teams, SharePoint, and OneDriveto implement the integration and feature updates of M365 and manage the AV tool roadmaps.
Workingknowledge ofAudio-Visualtechnology(e.g.,Crestron, Polycom).
Working knowledge of AV signal flow (HDMI, SDI, XLR, etc.)
Strong collaborationand communication skills to work effectively with others and provide effectivecustomer service.
Proven analytical, problem-solving skillsand methodical skillswith the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly.
Currencywith new AV technologies and trends.
Demonstrated ability to meet schedules and multi-task across multiple projects.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
