Job Title: Test Automation Engineer (Selenium & Java)

Work Location: Nagpur only

Overview of the Role: As a Test Automation Engineer specializing in Selenium and Java, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of software solutions delivered to our global clients. This role involves designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts, collaborating with cross-functional agile teams, and driving best practices in software testing to help HCLTech maintain its industry leadership and commitment to excellence.

Detailed Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium and Java to validate software functionality and performance.
• Collaborate with product owners, developers, and QA team members to define test strategies, test plans, and acceptance criteria.
• Execute test cases, analyze results, and report defects with clear documentation.
• Troubleshoot and debug test scripts and automation frameworks, ensuring high reliability and maintainability.
• Contribute to continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines by integrating automated tests.
• Participate in sprint planning and agile ceremonies, providing input on test coverage and quality risks.
• Promote and implement software testing best practices, tools, and methodologies across teams.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to clarify requirements, test outcomes, and ensure alignment on quality objectives.

Skill Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in test automation using Selenium and Java.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
• Hands-on experience with test planning, test case design, and test execution in agile environments.
• Proficient in troubleshooting and debugging testing scripts and frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within diverse, cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

Other Requirements (Optional):

• ISTQB or equivalent testing certification.
• Experience with additional automation tools or frameworks (e.G., TestNG, JUnit, Cucumber).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, or GitLab CI.
• Exposure to cloud-based testing environments or DevOps practices.
