Job Title: Automation Test Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Automation Test Engineer / SDET with strong hands-on experience in Java and Python for a 6-month contract role. The ideal candidate will have expertise in automation testing, API and mobile testing, and exposure to cloud-native and containerized environments. This role requires close collaboration with development and product teams to ensure high-quality, scalable, and reliable software delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test scripts using Java and Python.
  
• Perform automation testing using frameworks such as Cucumber, Rest Assured, Playwright, and Pytest.
  
• Conduct comprehensive API testing using Postman, including test data setup and post-execution validations.
  
• Perform mobile application testing using Appium.
  
• Deploy, test, and validate applications in Docker and Kubernetes environments.
  
• Validate backend services and APIs developed using Spring Boot and Retrofit.
  
• Perform database validation and data integrity checks using SQL and MongoDB.
  
• Collaborate with developers to understand application architecture and identify test scenarios.
  
• Execute cross-browser and cross-device testing using tools like BrowserStack, LambdaTest, HeadSpin, or OpenSTF.
  
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Git and Jenkins.
  
• Perform exploratory, regression, and performance testing as required.
  
• Identify, log, track, and verify defects using Jira and collaborate using Confluence.
  
• Write shell scripts and use CLI tools to support test automation and system-level tasks.
  
• Proactively identify quality risks and communicate issues to stakeholders.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 3–4 years of experience in software development and automation testing.
  
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and Python.
  
• Expertise in automation testing tools and frameworks including Cucumber, Rest Assured, Playwright, and Pytest.
  
• Hands-on experience with API testing using Postman.
  
• Practical experience with Appium for mobile automation testing.
  
• Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes environments.
  
• Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, relational databases).
  
• Experience developing or testing Spring Boot applications and REST APIs.
  
• Familiarity with AWS or GCP cloud platforms.
  
• Working knowledge of frontend technologies such as React, Next.js, and Tailwind CSS for integration testing.
  
• Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins).
  
• Exposure to OpenAI APIs or AI-based implementations is a plus.
  
• Experience with bug tracking and collaboration tools such as Jira, Asana, and Confluence.
  

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
