The role involves defining end-to-end hardware architecture for automotive ECUs, ensuring compliance with automotive quality, safety, and reliability standards, and working closely with cross-functional teams including software, mechanical, and manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and own hardware architecture for Automotive ECUs (IVI, Cluster, Body, ADAS, Powertrain, etc.)
  • Perform system-level HW design, including block diagrams, component selection, and technology roadmap
  • Lead schematic design reviews, PCB architecture, and design optimization
  • Ensure compliance with Automotive standards (AEC-Q, ISO 26262 – awareness/functional safety alignment)
  • Drive DFMEA / FMEDA activities from a hardware perspective
  • Collaborate with software, system, mechanical, and manufacturing teams for seamless integration
  • Interface with OEMs, Tier-1s, and semiconductor vendors for technical alignment
  • Guide validation, bring-up, and debugging of prototypes and production hardware
  • Support EMC/EMI, thermal, power integrity, and reliability analysis
  • Mentor and technically guide hardware design teams

Mandatory Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in Automotive hardware design & architecture
  • Strong experience in ECU hardware architecture and system design
  • Expertise in microcontrollers / SoCs (Infineon, NXP, Renesas, TI, Qualcomm, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with schematic design, PCB architecture, and design reviews
  • Knowledge of automotive communication protocols: CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet
  • Strong understanding of power supply design, signal integrity, and thermal management
  • Familiarity with AEC-Q compliant components and automotive derating practices
  • Experience working with OEM / Tier-1 engineering teams

Good to Have

  • Exposure to ISO 26262 (Functional Safety) – HW metrics
  • Experience in ADAS / IVI / Cluster / Gateway / BMS platforms
  • Knowledge of EMC/EMI testing, ESD, surge, and compliance
  • Experience with High-speed interfaces (PCIe, USB, HDMI, LVDS, MIPI)
  • Awareness of ASPICE requirements
  • Experience supporting production ramp-up and failure analysis

Tools & Technologies
