We are looking for an Automotive Engineer with hands-on experience in OBD-II diagnostics to work on diagnostic solutions for cars, bikes, and heavy commercial vehicles. The role involves working on vehicle protocols, ECU data, CAN data analysis, automotive research, and product development, collaborating closely with engineering and product teams to deliver market-ready automotive diagnostic products.
Key Responsibilities
- Work extensively on OBD-II diagnostics across passenger vehicles, two-wheelers, and heavy commercial vehicles
- Research and implement different OBD protocols (CAN, ISO, KWP, J1850, etc.)
- Analyze vehicle ECUs and diagnostic data to develop new features and special functions
- Support and enhance the existing diagnostic framework
- Collaborate with product, automotive research, and engineering teams to define and deliver go-to-market features
- Assist in feature validation, testing, and real-world vehicle compatibility checks
- Document research findings, feature behavior, and protocol-level insights clearly
- Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams when required
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Automobile / Mechanical / Electronics / Computer Science or related field)
- 2–3 years of experience in automotive diagnostics, OBD, or vehicle-related product roles
- Strong understanding of OBD-II standards and vehicle communication protocols
- Excellent English speaking and writing skills (mandatory)
- Ability to research independently and convert insights into product features
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good to Have (Bonus Skills)
- Experience working with diagnostic tools, ELM-based devices, CAN data or ECU-level data
- Familiarity with automotive apps, telematics, or fleet solutions
- Coding experience in Android, Frontend, or Backend development
