Job Description
Your new role
As the AVEVA Product Architect, you will play a technical administrator role in shaping, governing, and supporting digital unified engineering. You will:
Define the overall architectural direction for AVEVA platforms, ensuring they align with enterprise digital strategies and project delivery needs.Guide the planning, setup, and evolution of AVEVA environments across cloud and on-premises infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.Coordinate with engineering, IT, cloud, and digital delivery teams to align platform design with operational requirements and business priorities.Act as the central point of technical authority for AVEVA tools, advising stakeholders on system capabilities, deployment approaches, best practices, and future enhancements.Oversee cross-functional technical discussions, ensuring alignment between platform architecture, engineering standards, and digital workflows.Support decision-making by providing architectural insights, system health metrics, and improvement recommendations.Lead initiatives to modernize, optimize, and streamline the engineering tool chain, ensuring AVEVA systems integrate seamlessly within the broader digital unified engineering.Facilitate knowledge transfer, promote standardization, and ensure consistent communication across teams working with AVEVA environments.Drive architectural governance, ensuring systems are deployed, maintained, and evolved in line with organizational quality, security, and compliance standards.Areas of responsibility
System Architecture & Deployment
Design and implement AVEVA architecture across project environments (E3D, Engineering, Diagrams, Global etc.).Facilitate configuration definition and work with the infrastructure team to ensure correct deployment across on-premises and cloud platforms (GCP/Azure/AWS/Citrix).Manage system upgrades, patch installations, and product version migrations with minimal downtime.Administration & Configuration
Set up and maintain AVEVA databases, catalogues, specifications, Draw, Global Communication & Engineering Data model.Configure user access, roles, and project security in line with company standards.Manage project replication, backups, and performance optimization.Integration & Customization
Integrate AVEVA tools with external systems such as AVEVA, AutoCAD, Navisworks, MicroStation and EDW solutions.Utilize PML for developing custom tools, macros, and automation scripts to support AVEVA project execution and system customization.Support interoperability between AVEVA modules and other digital engineering tools.Engineering Data & Platform Architecture
Engineer ETL pipelines and integrate AVEVA data with the Datum/Data Lake ecosystem, enabling bi-directional data flows.Own the AVEVA Engineering Conceptual Model and ensure 1D–2D–3D synchronization and Tag-to-Document integrity for Digital Twin quality.Architect multi-vendor interoperability (AVEVA, Revit, vendor CAD, IFC) for hybrid project execution.Automate deliverable generation and optimize catalogs for parametric, workflow-driven outputs.Support & Troubleshooting
Provide expert-level technical support for project teams using AVEVA products.Facilitate and ensure the effective diagnosis and resolution of software, network, and data connectivity issues.Coordinate with AVEVA Support and vendor teams for escalations and issue resolutions.Standards & Documentation
Ensure AVEVA configurations comply with project CAD/Engineering standards and company procedures.Maintain up-to-date documentation on setup guides, configuration manuals, and best practices.Participate in audits and system reviews to ensure data consistency and compliance.Training & Collaboration
Provide user training, mentoring, and knowledge transfer sessions to project teams.Collaborate with IT, Engineering, and Digital Delivery teams for continuous improvement initiatives.Act as Product Architect for AVEVA system-related issues and enhancements.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering.15+ years of experience in AVEVA systems administration or architecture within EPC, Wind or Power projects.Hands-on experience with:AVEVA E3D / PDMSAVEVA Engineering AVEVA P&ID / DiagramsAVEVA GlobalStrong understanding of AVEVA data model, project structure, and discipline interfaces.Familiarity with AVEVA licensing models, SQL and deployment practices.Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.Hands-on experience in Citrix, GCP, Azure, AWS or virtualized environments for AVEVA deployment.Experience in AVEVA Connect or AVEVA Cloud-based projects.Knowledge of Digital Twin, Data-centric Engineering, or BIM standards (ISO 19650 / CFIHOS/RDSPP/KKS).Certification in AVEVA or relevant systems administration.Experience with Python/C# for data pipelines and exporting AVEVA data (XML/JSON/CSV) into Azure/EDW to support a Data-as-a-Product strategy.Skilled in 1D–2D–3D C&U workflows, managing AVEVA Conceptual Models, and enabling Revit–E3D/IFC integration for hybrid multi-vendor engineering environments.
