Job Overview
The APAC General Compliance Team will be responsible for the design, development, delivery and execution of best-in-class compliance policies and procedures, compliance training programmes and compliance reporting process, and more specifically, to:
• facilitate the review of head office policies and requirements against in-country laws and requirements and understand the deviations, draft consistent guidance for APAC region
• support alignment of an appropriate reporting process to assist the management in their oversight of compliance risk and prepare state of compliance reports
• promote a positive compliance culture and awareness by assisting with the development and roll out of appropriate programmes or training for staff
• perform ad-hoc compliance tasks as directed by the Head of APAC General Compliance Team and / or APAC Regional Chief Compliance Officer
Key responsibilities
•Support the design, development, delivery and execution of best in class compliance policies, training and reporting including compliance risk appetite, metrics and escalation
•Support any gap analysis between head office policies and requirements and in-country laws and requirements, and draft consistent guidance for APAC offices
•Assist to drive regional consistency and minimum standards
•Support the identification, assessment and management of key compliance risks
•Build strong and effective relationships with stakeholders
•Provide support and guidance to country compliance teams
Knowledge, skills and experience
•Bachelor's degree or equivalent
•At least 4 to 8 years' experience in compliance, legal or other controls related function in the financial services industry
•Knowledge and expertise in the design and implementation of compliance programmes
•Good understanding of banking products, services and processes
•Strong technical compliance expertise and understanding of corporate governance
•Highly motivated team player
•Strong analytical, communication and people skills, ability to lead, influence and collaborate with people across different cultures and backgrounds
•Adaptable, resilient and passionate about making a difference
•Strong attention to detail
•Subject matter expert, experience dealing with complex issues, forward-looking, solutions-oriented, ability to be "hands-on"
