Established in 2020, MUFG Global Service Private Limited (MGS) is 100% subsidiary of MUFG having offices in Bengaluru and Mumbai. MGS India has been set up as a Global Capability Centre / Centre of Excellence to provide support services across various functions such as IT, KYC/ AML, Credit, Operations etc. to MUFG Bank offices globally. MGS India has plans to significantly ramp-up its growth over the next 18-24 months while servicing MUFGs global network across Americas, EMEA and Asia Pacific

Position Title: Assistant Vice President

Reporting to: EMEA Core Compliance Testing Lead in MGS

Position details:

To contribute to the overall success of Compliance Testing and its objectives by delivering a risk-based programmed of second line compliance for MUFGs EMEA region. The role includes support of both the Global Head Offices assurance programmes and EMEA based testing. The role may involve ad-hoc investigations, projects and thematic reviews.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Execute risk-based compliance reviews (thematic and desk-based) across London and EMEA business areas.
  • Assist in scoping reviews, developing test scripts, and ensuring alignment with the annual testing plan.
  • Prepare high-quality reports and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders.
  • Track and manage remediation of compliance issues, ensuring timely closure.
  • Support VPs (MGS and London) in delivering the Testing & Assurance strategy, including contributing to governance reporting and MI.
  • Participate in ad-hoc investigations, projects, and thematic reviews as required.
  • Maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders to identify emerging risks.
  • Contribute to risk assessments through feedback on testing findings and trends.
  • Stay updated on regulatory developments and communicate relevant updates to the team.
  • Ensure adherence to MUFGs compliance standards and promote a culture of integrity and continuous improvement.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of compliance testing methodologies and regulatory frameworks (FCA, PRA, OFAC, GDPR, etc.).
  • Ability to scope reviews, design test programmes, and execute detailed testing.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and stakeholder engagement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with data analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight deadlines.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 5+ years in compliance assurance/testing within a financial institution (preferably investment banking).
  • Experience in conducting independent reviews and producing high-quality outputs.
  • Exposure to EMEA regulatory environments and wholesale banking business areas.
