This role is with one of our portfolio companies.

Role Summary:

We are currently present in 20 cities across India, and looking for a rock star to lead our expansion into the next set of cities. This role will be a complete ownership role for identifying new markets, setting up resources and processes to scale revenue run rate.

Key Responsibilities:

● Strategy Development:

○ Develop and implement expansion strategies, including market selection, go-to-market plans, and partnership strategies.

○ Define the phases and KPI success criteria for new market entry.

○ Research and develop a deep understanding of potential markets, including addressable size, readiness, and competitiveness.

● Market Entry & Execution:

○ Lead cross-functional teams to execute expansion plans, ensuring efficiency and speed to market.

○ Establish on-the-ground presence in new markets, building key relationships and standing up operations.

○ Manage operations, including recruitment, training, and quality control in new markets.

● Team Leadership & Development:

○ Build and lead a high-performing expansion team, including recruiting, motivating, and developing talent.

○ Set up the team for success with the right direction, resources, and skill sets.

Collaboration & Communication:

○ Collaborate with other leaders to meet objectives around product experience, growth, and scalability.

○ Communicate expansion plans and progress to stakeholders.

● Financial Management:

○ Manage the expansion P&L, driving efficiency and sound decision-making.

● Data Analysis & Reporting:

○ Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular reports on expansion progress.

○ Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and optimization.

Requirements

  • Education from a Tier-1 institute (IIT&IIM/ISB)
  • 10+ years of experience in business development, market expansion, or related fields
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and build relationships
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strategic thinking and planning skills
  • Understanding of market dynamics and competitive landscapes
  • Experience in managing P&L and budgets
