Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior AWS Cloud Engineer to collaborate closely with a Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) in defining, implementing, and enforcing best practices for cloud operations. This is a full-time, time-and-materials engagement within the insurance domain, operating in a hybrid model with on-site presence required three days per week in Lisbon.

The role focuses on supporting new initiatives through architectural guidance, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployments, and leading incident response and problem-resolution activities in mission-critical environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) to define, standardize, and enforce AWS operational best practices.
• Design and implement scalable, secure cloud architectures aligned with the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
• Provision and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and AWS CloudFormation).
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated and reliable deployments.
• Lead troubleshooting, incident response, and root-cause analysis for critical AWS workloads.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security, governance, and regulatory standards.
• Optimize AWS environments for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and related cloud-native components.
• Advanced proficiency in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies.
• Practical experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and AWS CodePipeline.
• Solid background in monitoring, observability, and performance optimization within AWS environments.
• Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to lead technical efforts under high-pressure conditions.

Qualifications & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering or related technical roles.
• Senior-level experience designing, deploying, and operating AWS solutions in enterprise-scale environments.
