Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Azure Data Architect with 10+ years of expertise in designing and delivering enterprise-scale data solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong data modelling capabilities and deep, hands-on knowledge of the Microsoft Azure data ecosystem . This role will be responsible for defining data architecture strategies, guiding data engineering teams, and ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud-based data platforms aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the end-to-end data architecture for cloud-based and hybrid data platforms on Azure
• Design scalable, secure, and high-performance data architectures supporting analytics, BI, and advanced use cases
• Create and govern conceptual, logical, and physical data models aligned with business and technical requirements
• Establish standards, best practices, and guidelines for data modelling, data integration, and data storage
• Architect and oversee implementation using Azure services such as Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL, and Azure Databricks
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analytics teams to translate requirements into architecture designs
• Review solution designs, provide architectural guidance, and mentor engineering teams
• Ensure data security, compliance, governance, and performance optimization across the platform
• Drive cloud modernization, migration, and optimization initiatives
• Evaluate and recommend new Azure services and technologies as part of continuous improvement

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related roles
• Strong expertise in data modelling (dimensional, relational, normalized, and denormalized models)
• Proven experience designing enterprise data warehouses and data lakes
• Deep, hands-on knowledge of the Microsoft Azure data ecosystem
• Strong understanding of ETL/ELT patterns , data integration, and orchestration
• Advanced knowledge of SQL and experience with large-scale data platforms
• Strong architectural, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities

• Azure Synapse Analytics
• Azure Data Factory
• Azure Data Lake Storage (Gen2)
• Azure SQL Database / SQL Managed Instance
• Azure Databricks
• Azure Monitor, Security, and Governance tools

Preferred / Good to Have

• Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid data architectures
• Knowledge of Power BI and analytics platforms
• Exposure to data governance frameworks , metadata management, and master data management
• Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert , Azure Data Engineer Associate )

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
