Responsibilities

• Lead the migration of SQL Server and PostgreSQL workloads to Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instances.
• Design, deploy, and support Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) offerings in Azure.
• Analyze and consolidate database instances to optimize performance, licensing, and cost.
• Implement Azure-native backup, replication, disaster recovery, and security configurations.

What You Will Bring To The Role

• Strong hands‑on experience with Azure SQL, SQL Managed Instances, and related Azure data services.
• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and database consolidation strategies.
• Experience in migrating legacy Unix/Linux‑based databases to modern cloud environments.
• Familiarity with Azure automation, monitoring, and security tools.
• Ability to collaborate with development and infrastructure teams in a global environment.
• Experience with regulated data environments (GxP, HIPAA, GDPR) is a plus.

Your Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with at least 5 years of database engineering or DBA experience; alternatively, a high school diploma/GED with at least 7 years of database engineering or DBA experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with Azure SQL or similar cloud database platforms.
• Demonstrated experience with database migration projects from on‑premise to cloud.
• Microsoft certifications (e.g., DP‑300) are highly desirable.
• Willingness to participate in after‑hours support and system maintenance.
