Back-End Developer for Tape Storage

Your Role And Responsibilities

As a Back-End Developer for Storage, you will design, develop, unit test, and deliver offerings for IBM Storage products using agile practices and DevOps tooling. You will work in a collaborative environment to understand requirements and create creative solutions to client problems, emphasizing fail-first, fail-fast methods and world-class quality. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Design and Develop Solutions: Design, code, debug, and test creative solutions to client problems and requirements, utilizing programming languages such as Embedded C, C, Python, REACT and Java.
• Collaborative Problem-Solving: Work collaboratively to understand requirements and deliver solutions, using agile practices and DevOps tooling to ensure world-class quality and resiliency.
• Test and Deliver Offerings: Unit test and deliver offerings for IBM Storage products
• Debug and Optimize: Debug and optimize solutions using kernel debuggers and user-mode programming, ensuring strategic imperatives including artificial intelligence and cloud.
• Support Strategic Imperatives: Support strategic imperatives, including artificial intelligence and cloud, by designing and developing software applications or device drivers for various operating systems.

Bachelor\'s Degree

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

• Knowledge of Software design and implementation.
• Linux application development knowledge.
• C & C++ development experience: Proficiency in low-level programming, optimization, and performance tuning.
• Debugging & Troubleshooting: Ability to analyze and resolve software defects, memory leaks, and performance bottlenecks.
• Version Control: Use of Git and GitHub
• Strong Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues efficiently.
• Advanced English Level.
• Web Development: Proficiency in web development using JavaScript (including modern frameworks such as React or Node.js) and understanding of backend development using Java.
• Expertise on database design, query optimization, and schema management, using SQL/SQLite

• Agile methodology.
• Experience or some introduction to TLS or any key exchange protocols would be desirable.
• Storage & Tape Technologies knowledge.
• Shell scripting, to solve problems in Linux-based environments.
