Backend Engineer FTC | AI Scale-up | Barcelona or Zaragoza (Hybrid)

I'm partnered with a Series B scale-up, well funded, globally recognised, and award-winning, looking for a backend engineer to join the team immediately.

You'll be building backend systems that sit directly behind AI and research workflows. This role is about turning experimental code, data pipelines, and model outputs into reliable services that can be used, measured, and scaled.

What you'll do

Build and maintain backend services that power AI tooling and internal platforms

Design and own APIs used for experimentation, evaluation, and automation

Turn research prototypes into stable, production-ready microservices

Build data pipelines and background jobs for model execution and system workflows

Integrate services across data, CI/CD, and ML systems

Improve performance, reliability, and observability of backend systems
