Job Description

We are hiring a Mid-Level Backend Engineer (1–2 years experience) to join the core engineering team of Money EU -  a payment gateway and payment orchestration platform handling real-money transactions across multiple countries.

This is a mission-critical role where you will work directly on:

  • High-availability payment systems
  • PSP integrations (Redsys, D24, CoinsPaid, etc.)
  • Card processing flows (2D/3D Secure)
  • Payment routing, settlement, and reconciliation
  • Secure transaction handling with encryption and signatures

You will be working on real fintech infrastructure where reliability, accuracy, and security of every API call matters. This role requires attention to detail, ownership, and the mindset of building banking-grade architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build backend microservices using Java/Spring Boot
  • Integrate global Payment Service Providers (PSPs) such as Redsys, D24, CoinsPaid
  • Implement end-to-end payment flows: authorization, capture, refunds, callbacks
  • Work with HMAC/AES-based encryption and signature verification
  • Build robust payment routing and orchestration logic
  • Implement settlement + reconciliation systems to ensure merchants receive accurate payouts
  • Optimize API performance for high-scale transactions
  • Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and QA teams to deliver production-ready features
  • Deployment knowledge is a plus

Skills & Requirements:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Java & Spring Boot
  • Understanding of REST APIs, microservices, and asynchronous flows
  • Experience with MySQL/Postgres and database query optimization
  • Familiarity with encryption (AES/HMAC), signatures, and secure API communication
  • Understanding of fintech/payment systems is a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Strong debugging and analytical skills
