LMG Staffing Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Backend Developer & Solutions Engineer for a contract role with a leading digital marketing agency. This is a technical, hands-on position focused on building robust backend systems, designing APIs, and integrating AI tooling within modern cloud infrastructure. You will architect scalable data workflows, support DevOps, and contribute to cutting-edge, AI-driven marketing solutions. This role is ideal for a backend expert who enjoys solving complex technical challenges in a collaborative, remote environment.

The Role: Backend Developer & Solutions Engineer (Contract)

As a Backend Developer & Solutions Engineer, you will be the technical backbone for key projects, focusing on backend development, API design, and cloud infrastructure. You will work with Python, GCP, Docker/Kubernetes, and AI frameworks to build and maintain applications that power data pipelines, automation, and integrations. While backend-focused, familiarity with front-end technologies is a plus for holistic solution design.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful and event-driven APIs . Build middleware for data migrations, third-party integrations (Google Workspace, Asana, Harvest), and automation workflows.
• Integrate AI tooling using Python (LangChain, LangGraph, FastAPI) . Work with vector databases and MCPs to enable RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) and advanced automations.
• Deploy, monitor, and manage applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) . Configure and maintain Docker and Kubernetes clusters. Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions .
• Provide support for infrastructure operations including DNS, CDN, and environment migrations. Apply Git best practices for team collaboration.
• Partner with SEO, analytics, marketing, and design teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Participate in code reviews and ensure high-quality deliverables.

Technical Requirements (Must-Have):

• 5+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python with experience in FastAPI, LangChain, and LangGraph .
• Proven experience in API design and middleware development .
• Foundational knowledge of Node.js for supporting backend services.
• Hands-on cloud experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ; AWS knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes , and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) .
• Familiarity with vector databases and integrating AI/LLM APIs into workflows.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Front-end experience: React, TypeScript, Next.js, WordPress, HubSpot CMS .
• Familiarity with PHP/Laravel for legacy system support.
• Exposure to marketing platforms: HubSpot, Shopify, WooCommerce .
• Knowledge of technical SEO implementation.
• Agile workflow experience (Asana, Jira).
