Backend Engineer

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to support the development of a scalable commerce and post‑purchase services platform operating in the e‑commerce and retail technology space. This role is ideal for someone with deep experience in Node.js, NestJS, and TypeScript who enjoys owning backend architecture, building cloud‑native services, and driving technical decisions. You’ll work closely with cross‑functional engineering teams to deliver well‑architected APIs and infrastructure while contributing to strong engineering practices and documentation standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Node.js, NestJS, and TypeScript.
• Build, optimize, and document scalable RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Lead backend architectural decisions and contribute to long‑term platform scalability.
• Work with cloud platforms, primarily Google Cloud Platform (GCP), to implement and manage infrastructure and data solutions.
• Deploy, manage, and scale applications using Kubernetes.
• Collaborate closely with frontend engineers and other backend teammates to ensure high‑quality delivery in an agile environment.
• Participate in code reviews, mentor teammates, and help define backend best practices and development standards.

Core Requirements

• 6+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js, NestJS, and TypeScript.
• Working experience with Python in production environments.
• Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes and containerized deployments.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design, versioning, and documentation.
• Experience with Git‑based workflows and modern development practices.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in distributed teams.
• Availability for seamless communication and responsiveness during EST hours.
