Backup Administrator

Location: Guadalajara (hybrid, 2 days in office).

Responsibilities

• Must have 7+ years of experience on backup technologies like Actifio and TSM backup solutions. Actifio must be a primary technology skill.
• Experience in working with Backup & Recovery. Work experience in requirement gathering, design and implementation of backup solutions, Backup & Recovery with industry products such as Actifio / TSM.
• Configuring/Modifying the Actifio backups for different virtualization environment.
• Hands on experience on different restore procedures used in Actifio and TSM technologies.
• Good knowledge on managing the Replications.
• Good working experience on handling and mitigating the SLA violations.
• Knowledge on Disaster recovery planning and procedures.
• Knowledge on Resource Optimization and Performance monitoring & tuning managing the alerts set up, notifications and Call home facility provided by the tool.
• Hands on experience on Report Manager (RM) and Actifio Global Manager (AGM).
• Knowledge on customizing the reports based on business requirements.
• Troubleshooting all backup and restore failures within the SLA process.
• Knowledge on Actifio Support coordination and management.

Required Actifio Technical Skills - Primary

• Protect File Systems service including the discovery and out-of-band protection of local or mapped NFS or CIFS file systems.
• Protect MS SQL service including the discovery and out-of-band protection of SQL Server Instances along with Always On Databases, which will include refresh activities as well.
• Exchange Recovery Implementation service including the discovery and out-of band protection of Exchange server & protecting DAG databases.
• Have a strong knowledge on Kroll Software to recover single files from share point or exchanges databases.
• Implement Big Data Director services to BDD Node installation and configuration and addition and protection of one NAS Server.
• Create and map VDisks and MDisks, and then assign them to the BDD Node.
• Add the NAS server to the Actifio CDS appliance and Create the NAS data set from the application.
• Protect the NAS data set & Verify the protected data set on the NAS Server.
• Install and validate CDS hardware and software.
• Configure Secure Connect and Call Home.
• Configure dedupe pools, snap pools.
• Join the cluster and perform replication tests if applicable.
• Create Service Level Agreements and profiles.
• Demonstrate how to recover data (mount, clone, restore).
• Install Reporting Appliance.
• Configure remote monitoring and VPN connection.
• Deploy SKY OVA or VHDS files.
• Configure Sky Virtual Machine, Configure VM CPUs and Memory according to appliance license.
• Configure and test replication if applicable.
• Add the VMs hypervisor as a host in the Domain Manager.
• Select the VMs to protect.
• Discover VMs, Create Application Groups, Configure schedules.
• Perform Actifio CDX & SKY Appliances Health Checks in the areas like Resource Pool Usage, Job Slot Usage, Resource Pool Performance, Application Details and Protection Scheme, Application Consistency Check, Job Failures & Log file analysis.
• Perform Actifio Global Manager deployment.
• Verify AGM system requirements.
• Install and deploy the AGM OVA & Verify port requirements.
• Configure network connectivity & Consult with the customer on business requirements for.
• SLA templates and policies, Roles, Organizations, Users.
• Identification of baseline CDS/Sky.
• Identification and resolution of AGM managed appliance policy conflicts.
• Add applicable CDS and/or Sky instances.
• Test all AGM managed appliances and resolve any remaining policy conflicts.

Preferred TSM Technology Skills

• Experience on TSM v6.0, v7.0, v7.5 and V8.1.1 Installation, Configuration and upgradation administration on Windows, UNIX and Linus environments.
• Creation and configuration of backup policies such as file systems, SQL, VMware, Oracle.
• Design complete Backup, Restore strategy. Configuration of Backups Full/Incremental/Image/Sub-file and Troubleshooting.
• Responsible to implement High Availability, Work Load Management and Fail Over, Disaster recovery.
• Configuration of inventory expiration, migration, reclamation, TSMDB backup Admin Schedules.
• Creating backup scripts for user backup for UNIX and Windows servers.
• Proven debugging and analytical skills with solid grasp of system development methodologies, techniques and tool.
• Should know all available TSM Admin and Client interfaces, CLI, GUI, Web-client etc. and familiar with the available features.
• Proficient in TSM for VE. Should have handled major DR drills. Knowledge on HADR and major replication methodologies.
• Proficient on TSM Client setup and different restore methodology.
