Banking & Payments Consulting Manager


Accenture Australia's Banking & Payments practice is a global functional network of more than 15,000 people who work across multiple industries, delivering end-to-end industry capabilities that enable next-generation banking and payments solutions for clients such as banks, insurers, wealth and asset managers, capital markets, as well as businesses and public institutions, retail, utilities, and government sectors.


As a Manager within Accenture’s Banking & Payments practice, you will work in a vibrant, dynamic environment with access to cutting‑edge technologies, AI training, and a global network of experts, leveraging these tools across each consulting engagement.


Responsibilities



  • Deliver successful consulting engagements, addressing clients’ most pressing business challenges and creating lasting value in disciplines such as C‑Suite strategic agendas, emerging products and services, organisational redesign and operating model transformation, artificial intelligence, core systems transformation, cost efficiency, and enterprise agility.

  • Drive, identify and support business development and sales, partnering with leaders, clients, and consultants across practices.

  • Solve complex, ambiguous business, change and technology problems with structure, rigorous analysis, and decision making with minimal oversight.

  • Build trusted relationships with client and Accenture teams in a dynamic and challenging environment.

  • Support the development of Accenture’s Payments practice through people development, mentoring junior team members, and recruiting activities.

  • Take accountability for developing offerings within Payments, especially in the Cards space, and drive the growth agenda for clients.

  • Lead the creation of well‑articulated thought‑leadership assets that present innovative and action‑oriented information, insight, knowledge, guidance, and recommendations on market‑relevant strategy topics.


Qualifications / Skills



  • 8+ years of experience in banking and/or payments, ideally within a bank, payment service provider, fintech, or public sector organisation.

  • Subject matter expertise in banking products, payments products, digital platforms, and both retail and corporate/institutional lines of business.

  • Deep understanding of the latest banking and payment industry trends.

  • Exceptional leadership, communication (written and oral), and interpersonal skills.

  • Analytical, dynamic thinker with great problem‑solving experience.

  • Commercial awareness to support large‑scale engagements and spot market opportunities.

  • Proven experience managing and leading large, complex projects and multi‑functional teams.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including report writing.

  • Strong analytical skills, ability to establish fact‑based relationships and gain influence in complex organisations.

  • Proven presentation skills and personal impact to lead large‑scale senior meetings and stakeholder forums.
