Battery Pack Systems Engineer

This role designs, builds, connects, and tests battery packs for electric vehicles (EVs) or battery energy storage systems (BESS). You’ll connect cell makers, mechanical designers, and software/BMS teams to meet performance, safety, and legal standards.

Key Responsibilities

• System Design & Architecture: Lead battery pack layouts, electrical wiring, and pick components like contactors and fuses.

• Requirements Management: Turn customer needs into specs for voltage, capacity, heat, and weight.

• Simulation & Modelling: Use tools to predict pack performance, heat, and long-term wear.

• Thermal & Structural Design: Create cooling systems and ensure strong mechanical build.

• Safety & Validation (DVP&R): Plan tests, do DFMEA (failure analysis), and follow rules like UN38.3, ISO 26262, and Regulation 100.
