Position Overview
The Business Development Manager for the Maharashtra region will be responsible for tapping into the state's high-volume, competitive corporate infrastructure market. This role demands a proactive professional who can navigate the complexities of corporate procurement in major metro areas like Mumbai and Pune. The core mission is to establish as a top-tier provider of ergonomic office furniture by engaging decision-makers, securing large contracts, and managing key influencer relationships across the region.
2. Key Accountabilities
Strategic Growth & Sales (Maharashtra) :
• Develop a strategic territory plan focused on maximizing market share in Mumbai and Pune's commercial real estate and IT/BFSI sectors.
• Drive aggressive new business development to meet and exceed monthly/quarterly revenue targets of up to ₹80,000.
• Initiate and close large-scale, high-value bulk orders by successfully addressing corporate tender requirements.
• High-Value Stakeholder Management:
• Establish and maintain a powerful professional network among C-suite executives, Corporate Facilities Managers, and Procurement Heads across Maharashtra.
• Actively work with the state's top Architects, Interior Design Firms, and Project Management Companies to ensure products are part of their material specification library for new commercial projects.
• Quotation and Contract Management:
• Prepare detailed, customised quotations, project costing sheets, and technical compliance reports specific to complex corporate requirements.
• Lead the negotiation process on pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to secure profitable contracts.
• Coordination & Delivery:
• Liaise closely with the in-house logistics and production teams to ensure flawless execution and on-time delivery of finalized corporate orders.
3. Required Qualifications and Skills
• Education: Bachelor's degree in a business or commerce discipline (postgraduate qualification is preferred).
• Experience:
Minimum 5 years of successful B2B selling experience in a fast-paced metro environment. • Mandatory 2+ years of dedicated sales experience in Corporate Seating, Modular Furniture, Office Interiors, or a related highticket B2B sales field.
• Competencies:
• Exceptional networking and persuasive communication skills in English and Marathi. • Proven ability to manage and close sales pipelines involving multiple decision-makers over a long sales cycle.
• A strong existing network within the Mumbai/Pune corporate real estate and design community is highly advantageous.
• Must be articulate, results-oriented, and comfortable with frequent regional travel.
• Proficiency in CRM usage and generating sales reports.
