Job Title: Behavior Assistant – Special Education (SPED)
Location: South Riding, VA 20152
Duration: 24 Weeks
Schedule: Mon–Fri | 7:15 AM – 2:30 PM
Pay Rate: $27/hour
Job Summary:
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a patient and student-focused Behavior Assistant to support special education teams by implementing behavior plans, reinforcing positive strategies, and assisting with academic and social-emotional development in a safe, inclusive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and support positive behavior development
Provide one-on-one and small-group student support
Assist with classroom activities, transitions, and instructional goals
Observe, document, and report student behavior and progress
Support IEP accommodations and behavior strategies
Assist with de-escalation and crisis response using approved techniques
Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, and arrival/dismissal
Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and support staff
Qualifications:
High school diploma required; relevant coursework or experience preferred
Experience working with children, special education, or behavioral support preferred
Knowledge of ABA, Autism support, PBIS, or behavior modification a plus
Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills
Calm, reliable, and able to work in high-energy environments
