Job Description

The Behavioral Analytics Lead is responsible for analyzing user behavior patterns, identifying drivers of engagement and retention, and delivering insights that influence product, marketing, and business strategy. This role blends data science, psychology, user experience understanding, and advanced analytics to uncover how customers interact with digital products. The lead works closely with Product Managers, UX Designers, Engineers, and Leadership to design data-informed solutions that optimize customer journeys and business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities 1. Behavioral Data Analysis & Insights

  • Analyze user behavior across digital platforms (web, app, product) using advanced analytics techniques.
  • Identify behavioral trends, friction points, motivations, and drop-offs across user journeys.
  • Build predictive and descriptive models related to churn, retention, segmentation, and conversion.
  • 2. Experimentation & A/B Testing

  • Design and evaluate A/B tests, multivariate experiments, and behavioral interventions.
  • Partner with product and marketing teams to validate hypotheses and improve user outcomes.
  • Measure experiment impact and recommend iterative improvements.
  • 3. Strategy & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Translate complex behavioral data into actionable business and product recommendations.
  • Collaborate with Product, UX, Marketing, and Engineering teams to align strategies with insights.
  • Drive strategic initiatives related to growth, personalization, engagement, and retention.
  • 4. Advanced Analytics & Tooling

  • Work with behavioral analytics tools such as Mixpanel, Amplitude, Heap, Google Analytics, or Adobe Analytics.
  • Create dashboards and automated reports for leadership using tools like Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or SQL.
  • Build behavioral models using statistical and machine learning techniques.
  • 5. Customer Segmentation & Journey Optimization

  • Develop behavior-based segmentation models to improve targeting and personalization.
  • Optimize customer journeys by identifying motivations, intent signals, and blockers.
  • Support UX research with quantitative behavioral insights.
  • 6. Data Governance & Data Quality

  • Define tracking requirements and ensure clean, accurate behavioral data pipelines.
  • Collaborate with engineering and data platform teams on tagging, instrumentation, and event schema design.
  • Maintain documentation for data dictionaries, KPIs, and tracking frameworks.
  • Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s in Data Science, Statistics, Psychology, Economics, Behavioral Science, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 5 plus years of experience in behavioral analytics, product analytics, or data science.
  • Strong SQL skills and proficiency in Python or R.
  • Expertise in tools like Mixpanel, Amplitude, Google Analytics, or Adobe Analytics.
  • Experience with A/B testing frameworks and experimentation design.
  • Solid understanding of statistical modeling and data visualization.
  • Ability to translate data into stories and influence executives and cross-functional teams.
  • Compensation, Benefits and Duration


    Minimum Compensation: USD 43,000
    Maximum Compensation: USD 151,000
    Compensation is based on actual experience and qualifications of the candidate. The above is a reasonable and a good faith estimate for the role.
