At Bern’s Steak House we are looking for candidates who would take a "total ownership" approach to their work. Bartender Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Product & cocktail knowledge is a must
  • Ensure that all beverages are prepared to maintain the quality standards consistently at all times as mandated by the General Manager.
  • Prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with our standardized drink recipes.
  • Learns and knows the menu and how to pair drinks with the food that is offered.
  • Record food and drink orders accurately and in a timely fashion after receipt into Point of Sale.
  • Accept guest payment, process credit card charges and make change (if applicable).
  • Wash and sterilize glassware.
  • Prepare garnishes for drinks.
  • Maintains bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages.
  • Clear and reset tables in the bar/ lounge area.
  • Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies.
  • Make recommendations and answer questions regarding food and beverage.
  • Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas.
  • Receive and serve food orders to guests.
  • Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to the restaurant manager.
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
  • Demonstrate proficient food knowledge.
  • Demonstrate proficient beverage knowledge (Liquor, Wine, and Beer).
  • Perform all duties while following all health department sanitation requirements.
  • Attend training and classes as provided by the Company. 
  • Qualifications and Skills

  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
  • Bartending experience (preferred, but not required)
  • Neat appearance
  • Willingness to learn
  • Open attitude to a unique way of doing things
  • Able to work well with others
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Multitasking
  • Memorization skills
  • Personable and able to interact with guests​
