JOB DESCRIPTION - BIM Manager, India
MISSION
- We are seeking a BIM Information manager and Document Controller for the India region to support and guide our Design and Construction Teams.
- You will report to the Regional Engineering Manager as part of the Design and Delivery team in Colt DCS’s Regional Function.
- You will also indirectly report to COLT DCS’s Head of BIM as part of the wider COLT DCS BIM Team.
- You will play a leading role in the implementation and review of information management processes and use of Colt DCS’s common data environment across projects within India

- In this role you will create value by identifying, evaluating and implementing plans to improve the commission ability of all new data centres.
- You will also actively build relationships with our Customers to understand their views on the service provided – sharing these views with others to identify areas of improvement, benefiting the overall service for the Customer.
- You will review working methods regularly to identify ways of improving Customer experience – making recommendations on what improvement can be made and owning delivery of agreed action plan and outcomes.
THE TEAM
- In this role you will Collaborate to perform by ensuring that the team will support you in providing advice and technical assistance during the Projects delivery phases, as well as to the Sales Team during customers engagement initiatives or the Operations Team on all matters relating to engineering and commissioning on live facilities.
- You will participate in a culture of a teamwork and continuous improvement, leading by example, to work with all other functions in a proactive and energetic way to promote the Engineering & Delivery agenda.
THE SKILLS / EXPERTISE THEY BRING
- Manage the common data environment to ensure both internal and external stakeholders are complying with the standards, methods and procedures.
- Be part of various Design and Construction teams, ensuring that the quality of models is to the appropriate standard and that the BIM360/ACC document management system is fully utilised.
- Review design and construction teams bid submissions including analysing BIM capabilities and resourcing and support in the production of BIM Scope in the Scope of works (SoW) for various roles.
- Setup all projects on BIM360/ACC for India projects.
- Setup BIM360/ACC folder structure, modules review workflows and manage access and permissions to the CDE, ensuring all teams have the correct access at all times.
- Manage users, companies and roles for effective BIM360/ACC management – Add new users, companies and roles. Ensure inactive accounts are addressed.
- Ensure documentation is uploaded in the correct place and meets the project procedures including naming convention followed, title included, metadata populated.
- Train and guide the external Consultants and Contractors to ensure they deliver to the project’s information requirements and the use of Colt DCS’s BIM 360/ACC requirements in document, field and asset management.
- Train and guide the external Consultants and Contractors to ensure they deliver design and construction models in line with COLT DCS’s BIM requirements (EIR & supporting documents). Ensure all models are handed over to As-Built status including all drawings deriving from the native BIM models.
- Support Lead Consultant / General Contractor & wider project team in the management of the Document Register (MIDP) – populate status and reviews & track document submittals.
- Support Lead Designer in managing the closing out of Project Documentation Reviews.
- Support BIM team in document guidance & workflow / process production.
- Upload project documentation for the Colt team.
- Attend Project Meetings where required.
- Ensure that the latest revisions are administered and distributed promptly and are correct and available to the team on BIM360.
- Work closely with Operations, Design and BIM team to understand the flow of information on a project.
- Support Project Team on BIM360/ACC Document management and any QA queries related to documentation.
- Support the wider business on effectively utilising ACC and BIM in their day to day role.
- Support the business in producing data analytics reporting both on a project and organisational level.
- This role requires candidate to work from the office on all 5 days a week. WFH policy is not applicable for this position.
- Strong information management skills, a proven track record in large projects and a strong background in all aspects of information management.
- Expert in providing implementation and governance to information management across several projects.
- Good understanding of BIM360, ACC or similar platform (e.g. Procore).
- Experience Revit and Navisworks user.
- Working understanding of Scan to BIM process. Experience using RECAP preferred.
- Working knowledge of BS1192 or ISO19650 standards for naming convention requirements.
- Strong Documentation and process management skills.
- Strong CDE platform skills.
- Experience with cross-discipline teams to design critical facility systems.
- Proven experience of writing policy statements and guidance documents.
- Experience across multiple project stages including design and construction
- Working knowledge of ISO19650 & Quality management processes.
- Detail-oriented, possessing strong organizational skills, self-starter that can excel with little direction.
- Must be able to operate in a collaborative manner with an emphasis on team working.
- Excellent IT skills required in tools such as Microsoft suite and knowledge of power BI is desirable.
- Ability to travel as and when required.
