Summary: The Bindery Operator is responsible for the setup, adjustment and safe operation of all relevant bindery equipment to produce finished quality products that meet customer specifications and quality standards.

 Schedule: 

1st shift, Monday - Friday, eight or more hours per day, five days per week based on business needs. Primary schedule will be 5:00 AM – 1:00 PM, or similar. Training may occur other times.

2nd shift, Monday - Friday, eight or more hours per day, five days per week based on business needs. Primary schedule will be 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM, or similar. Training may occur other times.

Salary Range: $16.00 To 18.00 Hourly

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Access and review batching systems and job tickets to identify priority work and plan processes according to customer specifications.
  • Set up machines, verify readiness, and adjust operating parameters to meet production requirements.
  • Monitor machine performance during operation, making adjustments as needed to maintain quality, efficiency, and material flow.
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure products meet established specifications and quantity standards; provide status updates to the supervisor.
  • Troubleshoot machine issues and resolve when possible; promptly notify the Floor Supervisor of unresolved concerns.
  • Conduct routine machine maintenance, lubrication, and cleaning to ensure optimal performance.
  • Unload materials from machines and stack finished products on pallets safely and accurately.
  • Remove waste items for recycling
  • Report all injuries, illnesses, and near misses to management immediately
  • Adhere to all safety rules and regulations as set forth by 4over
  • Complete and maintain required records and paperwork, as needed
  • Wear all assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required
  • Perform regular housekeeping duties in assigned and surrounding areas
  • Attend all department/company meetings, as needed

    EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCES:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency
  • Six-months to one-year related experience in Bindery Department
  • CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:

  • Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Strong problem-solving skills when faced with unexpected challenges, such as machine malfunctions, material shortages, or errors in print quality. Ability to adapt to new printing technologies or changes in production schedules, ensuring smooth operations despite changes.
  • Time Management & Efficiency: Ability to manage multiple print jobs simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met without sacrificing quality. Organizing workflows, preparing materials in advance, and optimizing print runs for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in monitoring print jobs to ensure all details, such as color accuracy, image sharpness, and print placement, meet the required standards. Detecting small defects or inconsistencies during production and taking corrective action immediately.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to read and understand corporate policies, job-related documents, and written/verbal instructions in English to ensure effective and compliant job performance.
  • Strong foundational math skills, with the ability to perform basic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, and efficient in managing time, with a proven ability to meet deadlines and complete tasks accurately.
