Biochemist - AI Data Trainer

We seek PhD‑level Biochemists to challenge and refine advanced language models on topics such as protein folding, metabolic flux analysis, molecular genetics, and enzyme kinetics. In this remote contract role you will document failure modes in AI reasoning to help harden model accuracy for scientific research. Work on high‑impact projects while earning $35‑$70 per hour, fully remote, with flexible weekly hours. No prior AI experience is required.
Base Pay
$35.00/hr – $70.00/hr (remote)
What You’ll Do
- Develop complex biochemistry problems across domains (nucleic acid chemistry, proteomics, drug‑target interactions) to test AI performance.
- Author ground‑truth solutions – create rigorous, step‑by‑step technical answers that serve as benchmarks for high‑level scientific reasoning.
- Technical auditing – evaluate AI‑generated biochemical pathways, molecular structures, and mathematical proofs for accuracy, safety, and adherence to scientific standards.
- Refine reasoning – identify logical fallacies in AI reasoning (e.g., incorrect stoichiometry, misunderstood stereochemistry) and give structured feedback to improve model thinking for life‑science tasks.
Requirements
- Advanced degree (PhD completed or in final stages) in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field.
- Domain expertise in structural biology, enzymology, cellular metabolism, or bioinformatics.
- Strong analytical writing – ability to communicate highly technical concepts clearly and concisely.
- Attention to detail – precision when checking complex chemical equations, molecular diagrams, and experimental protocols.
- No prior AI experience required.
Preferred
- Experience with data annotation, quality, or evaluation systems.
- Proficiency with computational biochemistry tools (PyMOL, AlphaFold, BLAST).
