Service Technician – Building Automation Systems

Join a well‑established specialist in building automation solutions as a Service Technician, supporting a diverse range of clients with the upkeep, optimisation, and commissioning of HVAC‑related control systems.

We’re looking for someone with hands‑on experience in the HVAC or electrical service environment who can operate confidently both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Niagara based framework, Niagara experience essential.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Carry out routine servicing, preventative maintenance, and system inspections across a range of Building Management Systems (BMS) and Energy Management Systems (EMS).
  • Diagnose faults in sensors, actuators, controllers, and other control system components.
  • Perform software updates, adjust calibrations, and fine‑tune systems for improved performance.
  • Repair or replace defective parts such as relays, valves, wiring, and controllers.
  • Work closely with the Service Manager to organise parts, equipment, and resources required for repairs or small‑scale projects.
  • Assist the estimating team with labour and material details to support accurate quoting.
  • Liaise with the Service Coordinator to arrange site visits and ensure all compliance paperwork is completed.
  • Follow internal processes, particularly relating to communication and documentation through Microsoft Outlook and Teams.
  • Maintain detailed service records and equipment history logs.
  • Support commissioning of new or upgraded systems, including system validation, function testing, and performance optimisation.
  • Ensure installations meet design intent, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare commissioning documents and reports to confirm system compliance and efficiency.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, facility managers, and stakeholders, providing clear updates and technical guidance.
  • Offer basic end‑user training on BMS and EMS operation where required.
  • Comply with all safety procedures, regulations, and company policies throughout all work activities.

Bonus Skills (Preferred but Not Essential)

  • Understanding of HVAC and BMS control systems.
  • Training or experience with Niagara – ESSENTIAL
  • Training or experience with Niagara or other BMS platforms.
  • Electrical or ARC qualifications/licensing.
