Job Description
The Manufacturing Engineering – Body/Dimensional Engineer is responsible for providing manufacturing engineering leadership throughout new model development programs, from early design phases through launch support. This role ensures that product designs are robust, manufacturable, and capable of meeting engineering line rates while preventing misbuilds, dimensional issues, and downstream quality concerns.
The position works cross-functionally with Design, Trim, Chassis, and Suppliers to ensure design compatibility, dimensional control, and tooling robustness. Key responsibilities include defining measuring points and tolerances, supporting formability and dimensional studies, leading locator and diagnostic strategies, and supporting PCF build events. This role also contributes to continuous improvement by identifying risks early and driving corrective actions to ensure manufacturability, quality, and launch readiness.
